On Sunday, January 15, 2023 (Dr. MLK's 99th birthday) there were two Chicago Mayoral Forums, one on the Northside at Lane Tech HS and another earlier on the Southside at the Historic Quinn Chapel Church.

All nine candidates were ready and present at the Northside forum, including Lightfoot, Wilson, Green, Buckner, Vallas, Johnson, Sawyer, King, and Garcia.

But earlier at Quinn Chapel, 4 of the 9 candidates including Garcia, Wilson, King, and Lightfoot were No-Shows to discuss Black voters' concerns about the killing of Black children.

Are these four candidates aware that Quinn Chapel is the oldest Black Church in Chicago and that Dr. MLK, Jr. visited it regularly as well as delivered the sermon for Quinn Chapel's 110th Church Anniversary? Are they familiar with the role that Quinn Chapel played in past Mayoral Elections and is where the first massive “Get-Out-The-Vote” rally took place to start the election of Chicago's first Black Mayor, Harold Washington?
Quinn Chapel is the Black community and the Black community is Quinn Chapel!
Mayoral candidates who skip Black-sponsored forums might as well skip asking for the Black vote.
MEG says to the Black community "Candidates who disrespect our heritage will not respect our vote!"
